Aruba: Self Love

(written by past Elizabeth in February 2020)

For those following my journey, it's clear that the main goal of this blog is personal growth and self-improvement. Recently, I've faced tough decisions in order to progress. Life presents challenges, requiring inner strength to overcome daily obstacles. While I may not perceive myself as strong, I remind myself that challenges come for a reason and I have the resilience to face them. Although spirituality isn't a frequent topic in my posts, apart from sharing a Bible verse occasionally, I've been prioritizing it during this challenging phase of my life.

While I'm enjoying the beach in Aruba with waves crashing nearby, I feel a sense of contentment. However, despite this, things still feel off. My life has been completely disrupted by my efforts to discover myself and improve. Currently, life feels like a continuous cycle of change. Some waves bring a refreshing sensation as they touch my toes, while others drag me under, leaving me disoriented. I'm currently struggling under a wave, feeling disoriented and lost in the vast ocean. Some may say this is typical for someone in their early twenties. If that's the case, I can only wonder what the upcoming years have in store for me. Fortunately, it's within my power to shape those years. Let the waves keep coming!

I firmly believe that everything occurs for a purpose, and this journey could not have happened at a more opportune moment. It serves as my way to break free. While some may view it as escapism, it is actually a deliberate step towards a fresh start. A friend shared with me the phrase, “mora mora,” which translates to "slowly slowly"; emphasizing the importance of taking your time in pursuing your goals, as certain aspects of life cannot be hurried. Allow the waves to envelop you, for they will ultimately guide you to a new destination. Here's to a new and exciting adventure!

When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you.
